Compassionate, Caring Support
Whether you experienced an abortion weeks, months, or years ago, you are deserving of healing and support. Many women (and men) find that post-abortion challenges can surface when they least expect them.
You don’t have to face things alone. Your feelings are valid, and we’re here to be the supportive resource you deserve. Though healing is rarely linear, know that we’re here every step of the way.
What You Feel Matters
People face various feelings after an abortion. While some might find relief, others can struggle with sadness, feelings of loss, and grief. In fact, studies have found that women can experience disorders like depression and anxiety after the procedure.
Beginning your journey to healing can be challenging. You may feel isolated or overwhelmed. Perhaps you are worried about outside opinions or don’t understand why things haven’t “gone back to normal.”
Remember that healing takes time, but it is possible. Below are some tips to help you begin this process:
- Be kind to yourself
- Engage in self-activities (i.e., spending time outdoors, connecting with friends) to ease back into a regular routine
- Consider journaling to get your thoughts and feelings on paper
- Speak with a trusted loved one (i.e., a friend or family member)
- Start counseling with a licensed mental health provider to develop goals for your healing journey
